Chairman's Office
Dublin Castle, Dublin 2
McGarry Ní Éanaigh Architects
The project sought to register the status of this important state office housed in a significant, eighteenth century building by employing a very limited palette of quality materials - oak, stainless steel, wool and leather in a simple arrangement of screen on rug with bespoke loose furniture and selected pieces of art. The screen secretly housing a large and varied storage requirement also sought to achieve a calm open room conducive to thought, conversation, meeting, decision making, leadership as required by the office holder.
