Cherrywood Office + Park Centre
Leopardstown, Dublin 18
McGarry Ní Éanaigh Architects
Two buildings - Park Centre and Building E located between a new lake and the main entrance roundabout to this new science and technology park. Park Centre acts as arrival point, containing bank, café, convenience store, park management facilities, crèche and crèche garden. The curved bow form at first floor provides covered forecourt connecting the entrance roundabout with the lake and park walks. Building E, 2,300 sqm office space cranks responding to the lake and to define entrance. Both buildings seek to achieve very good workplace environments by being well lit and naturally ventilated but also by enjoying great views towards the sea and the Wicklow Mountains achieving breath and wellbeing. Externally through composition and material choices these two buildings seek to achieve in this technology park environment a sense of place in what could easily be and often is a ‘no mans land’
